CLIMATE GRAPHS OF SPAIN

A climate graph is the graphic representation of the temperatures and precipitations of a place over the course of a year. The temperatures are represented with a red line while the precipitations are shown with vertical blue bars.

Talking about the analysis of the precipitations, we observe that the Total rainfall is very abundant (1665mm), what it means it is a alpine climate. Its distribution is regular since there aren´t any arid months, and even without the presence of arid months we know the rainy season (winter) and the dry season (summer). In addition, we observe that we have two tipes of precipitations, in summers rain and in winter snow because temperatures descen around 0º.

On the other hand, dealing with temperatures of the graph, we conclude the Annual average is 6,63 TºC, this means the temperature is from an alpine climate.. Besides, the Temperature Range shows us it isn´t an Inland high zone, because it´s under 16ºC (12ºC). Summers in this place are mild, because July and August have an annual temperature of 12 or 13ºC. And similar in winters that we have a cold temperature because the coldest months, which are January and December have an annual average of 1 or 2ºC.

When talking about Aridity, we can calculate monthly and general. To calculate the monthly aridity we use the Gauussen Index, results tell us the climate is Oceanic or Alpine, because we haven´t any arid month. The Maratonne Index is used to calculate the General Aridity and we obtain 75,6 which is more than 30, this is a humid climate.

Acording all this data we can afirm that is an alpine climate of the north of the peninsula. This climate is dominated by low temperatures, long and cold winters and short, cool summers. But we observe a peculiarity in this climate graph becouse is an alpine climate but is near the coast, becaue of this we have a temperature range under 16º.
In this climate vegettion is arranged in levels, also at the foot of the muntain we can observe cultivated crops or mediterranean forest and we are over 1600 we can also dont´t have vegetation. And acording to the fauna we will said that isn´t abundant in high mountain but we can see goats or some type of bird as well as, in Asturias or Galicia is tipycal to see small farms that raise sheeps or cows in small meadows of the mountains.

ANALYSIS OF A TOPOGRAPHIC PROFILE

A topographyc profile is the graphyc representation of the relief of an area, obtained by cutting transversaly the contour lines of a topographyc map. In this case the line that cut transversaly goes from Lisboa to the Pirinies and the gulf of Leon.

My line also cross the stuary of the river Tajo, the Central System goin near the north and south plateau, the Iberic System, the depression of the river Ebro and finally goes to the Pirinies and the gulf of Leon.

Now we are going to analyce the places that cross my line. I´ll start with the stuary of the Tajo.
The estuary of the river Tajo was formed by these river when, in the Era Terciaria/Cenozoico. In this period of time the plateau changed his inclination from the Mediterranean Sea to the Atlantic Ocean doing that the river flew to this Ocean. Also the number of years that the river have been there had did that the Tajo had depositated many remains at the sides of it giving fértil areas and a zone in form of U.

The central system was created when the Macizo Hespérico apear because below it a pit was picking up sediments and with the passage of the years this sediments will elevate big mountains that would get step to the Central system. Now is the most elevated mountain system of the península. Also it have many important mountain ranges that are: Somosierra, Gudarrama, Gredos, Peña de Francia and Gata.

The Iberic system was formed very similar like the central system. When apear the Macizo oF Aquitania, Ebro and Catalano-Balear, a pid was farmed below they and this pit get up sediments and with the time it eleved getting step to the Iberic system. It have many mountains ranges that are very important like:La Demanda, Moncayo and wiht a considerable hihg Picos the Urbión with 2235m.

The depresión of the Ebro is a depresión below the Pirinies in wich flows the River Ebro. It was formed in theEra Terciaria/Cenozoico when the big Mountain Systems apear, like The Pirinies. In this case, when the Pirinies apear, below they was formed a depresion. Many years later riber Ebro will flow across this depresion creating a big fértil area of groun at the sices of the river.

The Pirinies is the mountain system with the highest mountain of the península. It was formed in the Erogénesis Alpina when also were formed the Alps. They have been over the years a natural defense to the civilizations that were in the península amond the years. They have a complex estructure formed by the axis, the prepirinies and the middle depresion. The most highest mountains in the pirinies are near the axis like can be Aneto and Monte perdido. Also the Pirinies has two prolongations that are Montes Vascos and Cordillera Costero-Catalana.
